Types of Alerts

Alerts are sent via email; they are intended to provide immediate knowledge of a single Scenario success state change.  Each alert is allocated a unique ID number.

Four types of alerts are sent which enable an organization to know exactly when validation is failing, and when that failure has been resolved:

-     Failure Alert, this alerts of a Scenario that was previously succeeding that has now failed.

-     Success Alert, this alerts of a previously failing Scenario that is now succeeding.

-     Major Incident Alert, this alerts of a reduction in the calculated service availability below the low service availability threshold.

-     Major Incident Resolved Alert, this alerts when a previously failing major incident that is now succeeding and the calculated service availability is above the high service availability threshold.

All failure and success alerts include:

-     Information on the Scenario in question. Examples include:

Scenario name

Source User

Target User where appropriate

-     The time of the validation failing or previous failing validation succeeding.
