Priority of Feature Configurations Explained

When determining which settings are provisioned to a device, PowerSuite’s Device Management collates the settings from the inherited, and the directly assigned Feature Configurations associated with the device scope. If the same setting is found to be repeated in multiple Feature Configurations, Device Management applies the settings based on the following rules:

1.  Settings from Feature Configurations directly assigned to the Scope override settings with the same name from inherited Feature Configurations.

2.  When a setting is repeated in multiple Feature Configurations directly assigned to the Scope, the setting from the Feature Configuration with the highest priority is applied.

The Feature Configurations list in the Features Explorer page is sorted by descending priority. The Feature Configuration at the top of the list has the highest priority, and has priority over the Feature Configurations below it. The second Feature Configuration in the list has priority over the third Feature Configuration in the list, and the fourth in the list has priority over the fifth etc.

In the following screenshot, the Chinese language Feature Configuration has priority over the Spanish language Feature Configuration, since the Chinese language is listed higher in the list than Spanish language. The Secure Common Area Phone Feature Configuration has priority over every other Feature Configuration, as it occupies the top position in the list.
