Lync Enable Rule Example

The following Enable Lync Rule example applies to all users, whose "c" (country) attribute in Active Directory is "US".

The Action specifies Enable Lync, using the mail attribute as the source for SIP addresses. Two pools are available and the target distribution is 5:1.

-     Users in the US, who have not yet been enabled, will be enabled for Lync or Skype for Business. The SIP address will match their current email address. One of the two pools will be selected automatically by the Rules Engine which will consider the weighting of the pool. The pool selected will be the one with the less user to achieve a 5:1 distribution.

-     For users in the US that have already been enabled, the following will apply:

If the SIP address does not match the mail attribute, then the SIP address will be updated. The user can be notified of the change (optional) using End User Communication, if this option has been configured.

If a user is registered on a pool that is not part of the Allow Pools list, then the user will be moved, along with any meeting content if the source pool is available. If the source pool is not available, the Action will fail.
