Source Users and Target Users to be Used in Scenario

Determining the Source Users and Target Users to be used in a scenario, it is important to consider the following:

-     A Source User or Target User can only be involved in a single scenario at one moment owing to Lync or Skype for Business Multiple Points of Presence (MPOP).

Important:

A unique Source User account and a unique Target User account should be created for each scenario to prevent unexpected interactions of the scenarios.

Example:

If a Target User was utilized in multiple scenarios at the same time, then that Target User instance would potentially be receiving multiple calls concurrently. Although, it is supported that a Source User or Target User are used in multiple scenarios, potentially new accounts need to be created.

-     For Inbound PSTN Scenarios, a Target User is required that will receive the inbound call. This Target User needs to be allocated a PSTN number which is unique and is aligned with the relevant gateway to be validated. If the Inbound PSTN needs to be used to validate multiple sets of gateways, then a unique Target User will need to be created for each set of gateways. This will ensure the relevant inbound routing is applied.

-     For Outbound PSTN Scenarios, a Target User is not required to be specified.  A Target PSTN number however, is required that is routed to the appropriate set of gateways. An organization’s outbound routing scenarios will define which PSTN numbers are appropriate to each set of gateways.

Important:

The Target PSTN number needs to be:

–   Routable via Outbound routing

–   One that the organization knows is available

–   Able to answer the call

–   Able to provide audio for one minute per call (for example a conference bridge)

 NOTE:

If the enterprise is not aware of Target PSTN numbers that are available for calling, please contact Unify Square    for a list of numbers.

-     For Dial-In Conference Scenarios, an Attendee is required in order to replicate a user dialing into a meeting. This ensures that the scenario replicates an end user calling the target dial-in number from the PSTN. A second Attendee is required as part of Dial-In Conference scenarios.
