Outbound PSTN Scenario

The Outbound PSTN Validation scenario replicates an end user making a phone call via their Lync or Skype for Business client or other Lync or Skype for Business device, as illustrated below. In this scenario the phone call is made to an external phone number for example, another company.

A challenge is that, although it is possible that server components maybe monitored and deemed to be running, there is no guarantee that users can make outbound calls. Examples of failures in this scenario include:

-     Incorrectly configured firewalls

-     Incorrect PSTN routing scenarios

-     Overloaded Gateways or SIP Trunks

-     Carrier Issues
