Multiple Scenarios

Monitoring Solution provides a set of well-defined replicated end user scenarios. Each scenario can be validated for multiple instances of these scenarios, known as Scenarios. In addition, multiple scenarios can be validated.

Example:

An organization could have five different Inbound PSTN scenarios, and eight Outbound PSTN scenarios validated, with only two Pool to Pool scenarios validated.

With PowerSuite’s Monitoring Solution’s flexibility, it is possible to create a large matrix of scenarios that cover a large number of possibilities. This Monitoring Solution’s flexibility provides several key benefits, for example:

-     Pool to Pool scenarios:

An organization typically has several pools located in the same data center or within independent geographically dispersed data centers. Depending upon the topology within the organization and the priority of the pools it is important to validate:

-     The links between pools within the different data centers.

and/or

-     The links between pools within the data centers.

-     Outbound PSTN scenarios:

If an organization has an infrastructure of a set of gateways deployed worldwide, with numerous sets of gateways or SIP Trunks (for example, fifty sets of gateways or SIP trunks), in order to validate that each set of gateways are enabling end user scenarios correctly, it would be appropriate to create a scenario which covers each set of gateways. To perform this task, multiple outbound PSTN scenarios would be created, each scenario targeting a PSTN number routed to a specific set of gateways.

-     Inbound PSTN scenarios:

If an organization has an infrastructure of a set of SIP trunks or gateways deployed worldwide, with numerous sets of gateways or SIP trunks (for example, fifty sets), it is important to validate that calls received by those gateways or SIP Trunks from the PSTN are able to be received by users throughout the organization, irrespective of which pool the user maybe homed upon. To perform this task, multiple inbound PSTN scenarios would be created to validate that inbound calls are able to be received and that the calls can be received by all pools, in addition to the validation of Gateways and SIP trunks.

        TIP:

It is recommended that the set of scenarios is considered as a whole to determine any overlap, and reduce any duplication of coverage.
