Settings Rules

If the same setting is repeated in multiple Feature Configurations that have been applied to the same Scope, PowerSuite applies the following Feature Configuration rules:

1.  Settings from Feature Configurations directly assigned to the Scope, overwrite settings with the same name from inherited Feature Configurations. Therefore, Scope Feature Configurations always take priority over inherited Feature Configurations.

2.  Feature Configurations are ordered in a given scope. When a setting is repeated in multiple Feature Configurations that are directly assigned to a Scope, the setting from the Feature Configuration with the highest occurrence in the settings list is applied as having the highest priority. The priority of the Feature Configurations can be changed using the Device Management dashboard.

Example:

Cordant Inc. has the following Feature Configurations applied to the scope EMEA:

1.  Feature Configuration A - configures the device display background color to red

2.  Feature Configuration B - configures the device display background color to green

3.  Feature Configuration C - configures the device display background color to blue

Feature Configuration A is higher in the Feature Configurations list applied to the Scope EMEA, therefore, it has higher priority, resulting in red being applied as the background color for the devices in the selected Scope EMEA.
