Conflict Types

There are two types of conflicts:

-     Inherited Settings Conflict

This conflict is where the new Feature Configuration that is applied to the scope contains settings, which override some settings of an inherited Feature Configuration for the scope.

Example:

A Feature Configuration has been inherited from scope US. A Feature Configuration has been applied for scope Seattle, which shares some of the same settings as the inherited scope US, but different values are provided. PowerSuite Device Management will detect the conflict, and this conflict will then be displayed, when the Feature Configuration tab in the Device Management Explorer page or in the Device Management Device Details page is selected.

-     Settings Conflict

The new Feature Configuration that is applied contains settings that override or are overridden by the settings of another Feature Configuration that had already been applied to the same scope.

Example:

Two Feature Configurations that contain the setting for phone language are applied to the same scope of Montreal. One of the Feature Configurations sets the language to English, the other Feature Configuration sets the language to French. A conflict will display when the Feature Configuration tab in the Device Management Explorer page or in the Device Management Device Details page is selected.
